To say a little bit about Grimmer and Tenma, I should start at the very beginning. They meet in Chapter 78 of the manga, and in Episode 40 of the anime. From the very start, theirs is a complicitous relationship - Tenma a fugitive on the run to prove his innocence, and Grimmer a former spy willing to help him prove it. Throughout the following arc of the series, the two are thrown together to untangle more of the mysteries surrounding the events of Monster, becoming a close pair in the short time. It is in the humble opinion of this webmistress that theirs is a very complex and interesting friendship, forged in immediate kismet and nurtured through forced proximity and the slow unwinding of secrets and synchronicity. The quiet strength of their bond continues right up until the end of the series, though I'm not going to give you any spoilers on that one...!
